Alternative types of economic impact analysis are examined, using data from a highway study in Kentucky to explore (1) differences in the definitions of economic benefits inherent in the various types of analysis, (2) reasons for their differing findings on the value of benefits, and (3) issues affecting their interpretation and use in decision making.
