A pilot project with Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA) was to start in Tilburg, The Netherlands, in October 1999. The main objective is to learn more about how people will change in action and thought, when their behaviour is influenced by technological means. An experiment like this offers an excellent opportunity to actually observe the interaction. Furthermore, the study may reveal how technology makes people to adapt and how human behaviour forces changes in the technological design. In this presentation the focus is on the research design of the pilot.
