During the first months following the installation drivers' observation and respect for speed limits, especially in the vicinity of the radar cameras were obvious. Mean traffic speeds at these sites were significantly below those measured before the installation. Due to lack of enforcement of the speed violators, drivers' respect for the radar cameras has gradually diminished during subsequent years. Recent measurements indicate that driver' respect for the speed limits have decreased even at camera sites. Statistical tests confirm the measurements. Increased enforcement of speed limits in the vicinity of the radar cameras is strongly recommended.
