The study includes a state-of-the-art survey and interviews with samples from four different groups of road users - drivers who are used to park in the city area or at park-and-ride facilities, those who almost never park there, disabled drivers and users of mobile phone for paying parking fees. A number of interviews where carried out with experts within the parking area. A qualitative assessment method, partly developed within the project, where used for analysing the potential of different functions and technical solutions. The investigation resulted in an number of conclusons. The potential in developing interactive, internet based services adjusted to the users needs is especially emphasized. As the general public obtain more and more advanced technical products, like handhold PCs with navigation (GPS) and communication facilities, the demand for traffic applications incl parking will increase.
