Appearance of onset of nausea : transfer of knowledge - suggestion of laboratory studies Lauriks, G et al ; Förstberg, Johan

By: Contributor(s): Publication details: uo European Commission. Competitive and Sustainable Growth [GROWTH] Programme, 2004; Fast and Comfortable Trains, FACT. Deliverable 1, Description: 41 sSubject(s): Online resources: Abstract: The main task of the consortium is to find a way to evaluate a ride on curved track, in order to estimate the influence of motions of the coach on the motion sickness of the passengers on board of a tilting train. As a second task, the FACT consortium should create an album of comfort and nausea using the proper evaluation rules and respecting the constraints for each administration on which domain the train proceeds. In the consortium: - three partners have the knowledge how to build tilting coaches, - two partners have the knowledge of organising laboratory tests in this research domain, - two partners is experienced in organisation of field tests in this area, - one partner has knowledge in track standard rules. During the preparation time it was accepted that the existing knowledge was of such quantity that funds for survey's and laboratory tests could be cut without negative influence on the results of the study. A difficulty in this area is the commercial importance of a number of information's, and consequently the industrial partners are anxious to provide information that could damage their economical potency. An other difficulty is the observation that some results of not completely exploited tests represents such a amount of work, and consequently are so high valued, that "for free" circulation in the consortium is unacceptable for the owner of the work.
