It gives an overview of the speed limit classification of the contributing European countries and on the background of a series of existing and evolving technologies, and presents a deploynment roadmap with associated recommendations for introducing speed alert functionalities in vehicles. An estimate of possible accident reduction through the introduction of these technologies is deducted from different field tests.
