Approximately, 6,700 individuals (61 per cent of the sample) answered the questions by phone. The survey collected data on contacts and journeys. Questions were also included about data- and telecommunications equipment and the Internet and how individuals used these as well as questions about long-distance travel. Many of the questions related to a particular day decided in advance, the measurement day. This measurement day was unique for every person in the sample and evenly distributed over all of the days in the year. The sample respondents were contacted before the measurement day to be informed about the survey and asked to make a note of how they used the Internet, the contacts they took and the journeys they made during the measurement day.
