To meet this goal, we gathered research and developed step-by-step guidelines for creating and organizing a web-based forum (Part Two) and designed accompanying graphics to increase the levels of public involvement and understanding of intermodal issues in a community; in particular, the integration of pedestrian and bicycular paths with other modes of transportation (Part One). To achieve the goal of developing the graphics, the City of Starkville, MS was studied, however the website and its application can be applied to other towns, hence it serves as a prototypical site. The goal of this research is to develop a methodology for displaying and combining different aspects of intermodal thought so that laypersons may be able to partake in the discussion in a meaningful way.
