INTRO - Intelligent roads. Deliverable D4.3 : Safety indicators for monitoring traffic safety Chung, Edward
Publication details: Lausanne Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, EPFL, 2007Description: 201 sSubject(s): Online resources: Abstract: Work Package 4 of the INTRO project focuses on developing methodologies for predicting traffic conditions and for monitoring traffic safety using data measured from traffic sensors and floating car data. Deliverable D4.3 is the last of three deliverables of WP4. The scope of this deliverable are: - Analysis of accident database in relation to traffic parameters (such as speed, flow and density) and weather condition - Literature review of safety indicators developed - Develop new safety indicators and test their sensitivity using field data - Develop methodology to determine threshold values for safety indicators - Use microscopic simulation model to simulate traffic on a French motorway to determine its safety indicator value, and - Development of methodologies to fuse safety indicators.Work Package 4 of the INTRO project focuses on developing methodologies for predicting traffic conditions and for monitoring traffic safety using data measured from traffic sensors and floating car data.
