Driver warnings in time and safety critical situations : IVSS project report Nåbo, Arne
Publication details: Borlänge IVSS, Intelligent Vehicle Safety Systems, 2009; Saab Automobile AB, Description: 18 sSubject(s): Online resources: Abstract: The project will build upon previous studies done within GM and experience at VTI. It will be aligned with the near- to medium term introduction of active safety systems. The research will therefore to a large extent use systems (or concepts) that are in development within GM. The research will be fully coordinated within GM activities in other regions. The studies must take place in a dynamic driving simulator due to the difficulty in staging scenarios on a test track where multiple crash alerts are issues in close time proximity. The project report will contain: State of the Art of driver performance in time and safety critical situation, Correlations between HMI actuators, feature and driver response and active safety function, Rules and concepts of HMI for multiple active safety systems, Design, test, evaluation and demonstration using driving simulators at Saab and VTI.The project will build upon previous studies done within GM and experience at VTI.
