Publication details: Dublin National Roads Authority, NRA, 2006Description: 45 sSubject(s): Online resources: Abstract: The purpose of this document is to provide guidance for the identification and assessment of architectural heritage during the planning and design of national road schemes. These guidelines are not mandatory. However, they are put forward in order to achieve consistency of approach in both the identification and assessment of architectural heritage and its subsequent treatment during the different stages (i.e. Constraints Study, Route Corridor Selection and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)) of road scheme planning undertaken in accordance with the National Roads Project Management Guidelines (NRPMG). Architectural heritage and archaeology together form the built heritage. Therefore, it is recommended that these guidelines read in conjunction with the Guidelines for the Assessment of Archaeological Heritage Impacts of National Road Schemes (National Roads Authority, 2005).The purpose of this document is to provide guidance for the identification and assessment of architectural heritage during the planning and design of national road schemes.
