The project is part of the strategy of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for the implementation of information- and communication technology (ICT) in the transport industry, and include both the establishment of an ICT portal www.transport.no/ikt and ICT related articles in the magazine Transport Forum through 2003. Both the portal and the articles relate to the ARKTRANS Project, which represents a common terminology and understanding of relationships and structures in the transport industry. The portal front page contains the menu, general information, news, access to the news archive, and links to useful information. The menu: Background (the project, the transport industry, the authorities and the organisations), Competence (education, research, advisory services, literature and other information), System Overview (marketing, transport management, driver support and control of transport means, infrastructure management, and terminal management), Contact Persons, and Message Board. The Transport Forum articles cover web marketing, relevant project, case stories, and notes related to ICT services and - products relevant to the transport industry.
