The primary motivation behind developing a new management system is to increase the availability as well as improving the quality of the collected information. Earlier versions have been based on thick single-user clients, which have proven difficult for distribution of aggregated data to the public. The goal is to develop a service based web application that handles all the aspects of traffic data gathering, aggregation and presentation through a single web portal, based on the 9000 measure stations throughout Norway.
