Development of Algorithm to Calculate the Agent's Position for a Survey Simulator to Evaluate Safety Systems (ASSESS) Tanaka, Nobuhisa ; Morita, Kazumoto ; Hirose, Toshiya ; Takagi, Shunsuke ; Matsushima, Kazuo

By: Contributor(s): Publication details: Bryssel ITS in daily life: 16th world congress and exhibition on intelligent transport systems and services, Stockholm 21-25 September 2009. Paper, 2009Description: 8 sSubject(s): Bibl.nr: VTI P1835:16 [World]Location: Abstract: This paper is developing A Survey Simulator to Evaluate Safety Systems (ASSESS). This program generates a 3D computer simulation of a traffic environment. First, this paper describes a vehicle model algorithm, which is used for calculating the agent's position, and shows simulation results. Second, this paper describes an algorithm of Brake Assist System (BAS), which is built into ASSESS as an evaluation target of active safety system, and shows simulation results. It was confirmed that a vehicle model of ASSESS can simulate the position coordinates of agents equal to a real vehicle, regardless of whether BAS is activated or not.
