Findings from a survey study targeting logistics service providers and shippers suggest that those who include environmental performance in contracts, not necessarily consider how to measure the environmental performance and how to handle non-compliance. A higher degree of intra-organizational involvement is related to larger inclusion of environmental performance in contracts. Findings also indicate that transportation managers play a more important role for inclusion of environmental performance in contracts, as compared to top management and environmental managers.Presented at the 18th EurOMA conference 3-6 July 2011, Cambridge, United Kingdom
