The paper deals with new device called Cylindrical Tribometr used for testing the friction characteristics between steel and hot mix asphalts developed at CTU in Prague. Evidence established by Cylindrical Tribometr can be used as input data characterizing boundary conditions in numerical modelling techniques for finding approximate solutions (FEM). The paper presents particular data of coefficient of friction between steel and hot mix asphalt. The dependence on slip rate, temperature and adhesion of asphalt binder is discussed in this contribution.
