Publication details: Aalborg : Aalborg Universitet, 2024Description: 61 sSubject(s): Online resources: Notes: Rapporten finns även på danska: 15 minutters byen : i dansk kontekst. Summary: This report explores how the planning concept of the 15-minute city can be utilized in a Danish context, using the municipalities of Odense and Ballerup as concrete examples. The main focus of our work has been to show the role of storytelling in everyday life, planning, and politics in the transition to sustainable futures. The deliberate use of storytelling as a tool can create an easily understandable vision of the city in which citizens can see themselves. It plays an important role in building consensus and support for the changes in urban structure needed to tackle climate change. This is not a complete manual for Odense and Ballerup but rather illustrative examples of two different urban contexts and context-specific storytelling. In this report, we explore how to work with the 15-minute city in a Danish context, focusing on how storytelling can be used to create support for the changes in the physical design of the city that are necessary to fulfil policy goals.Rapporten finns även på danska: 15 minutters byen : i dansk kontekst.
